October 7, 2008 - A three-day team building exercise for the staff of IGAD is underway in Djibouti. The objective of the exercise is to strengthen the effectiveness of the organization, in particular its Secretariat IGAD-related institutions. All Djibouti-based staff are attending the meeting. Representatives of IGAD Programs managed from outside Djibouti such as ICPAT, the Conflict Early Warning Mechanism (CEWARN), the Climate Center in Kenya and the AIDS program in Uganda are attending the meeting. External consultants are facilitating the team-building exercise due to come to an end on October 8. The initiative was launched by the new Executive Secretary of IGAD, Moualim Mahboub, who in opening the meeting, called for openness and for the full participation of the staff. (ICPAT Information)
