February 6, 2009 - A three- person team from the AU Center for the Study and Research of Terrorism (CAERT) based in Algiers visited ICPAT today. Led by Idriss Mounir Lallali, Head of the Alert and Prevention Unit, and including the Head of IT and the Database Analyst, the team met with ICPAT staff and discussed in detail the common conerns in their common work, and exchanged ideas on ways and means of working together even more closely in training and other areas of capacity building. CAERT is a member of the ICPAT Steering Committee and ICPAT is the IGAD region focal point for CAERT. As a result the two organizations have begun to participate in each others meetings and other events. ICPAT's Senior Training Coordinator is due to visit CAERT for an experience sharing visit later this month. (ICPAT Information){gallery}CAERT{/gallery}
