The Steering Committee of ICPAT, comprising the representative of member states of IGAD, the seven partner states that support the Program financially (Canada, Denmark, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden), and the AU Center for the Study and Research on Terrorism (CAERT) met in Addis Ababa on June 23 and 24, 2008.

The Steering Committee, which meets once every six months, heard the six months report of the Program Office, views of IGAD member states on their CT experiences, a presentation on extradition and mutual legal assistance, on the study “strengthening donor support for counter terrorism in the IGAD region.”, and on the work of the AU Center in Algiers (CAERT). The meeting considered the Mid Term Review of ICPAT and called on the Program Office to draw up a proposal covering areas of activity and matters of program design that have been included in the Review, and agreed to convene an extraordinary meeting of the Steering Committee within three months to discuss/amend and approve the coming proposal of the program Office.
